Converted a dated, lawn-centric landscape to updated, intensely-used gardens for outdoor living, wildlife habitat, and fruit and vegetable production.
First Place 2015 Small Residential Design-Build Award from California Landscape Contractors Association East Bay for Caldwell residence in Lafayette. Created outdoor living spaces with firepit area, and restored and edited hillside vegetation.
First Place 2014 Small Residential award for Zhang-Cooney residence in Pleasant Hill from California Landscape Contractors Association East Bay. Converted unused lawn and failing retaining walls to a modern eco-garden with sculptural hardscape and native, drought-tolerant, and edible plants.
First Place 2013 Large Residential Design-Build award from East Bay CLCA. For the Chai Residence in Orinda. Front porch, front entry, driveway, and back patio installation with a series of gardens that completely transformed the relationship of the house to the outside landscape.
2013 Design Build Achievement Award from CLCA for Bartels Residence in Lafayette. Front and Back yard renovation converting lawn to serene (mostly) native woodland and flowering meadow plantings, and creating a new flagstone patio, gas fire pit, stone seat wall, composite decking. The design preserves and enhances native oak woodland and re-connects the garden to the surrounding native landscape.
First Place 2012 Large Residential Installation award from the East Bay CLCA for Adams Residence in Lafayette: A modernist garden with steel fencing, bocce court, event lighting, stream restoration, modernist use of native plantings, dry-stacked stone wall, and new lawn.
2012 Medium Residential Achievement award from CLCA for Nunes Residence in Alamo: updated pond with waterfall and installed a bio-filter, low voltage LED lighting, colorful planting.
